The Surface Design Clay Class is specially designed to teach you the following (please see agenda for a full breakdown of each week and details on each technique):

• Stamps

• Underglaze vs. Slip vs. Stain

• Engravings / Carvings

• Slip (for texture and design)

• Clay Additions

• The last class is glazing*

Our beginner's pottery class is specially designed to teach you the basics of wheel throwing. We will cover proper posture, breathing techniques, motor functions, form, and - of course - how to make safe functional pieces (mugs, cups, bowls, plates, etc)! Our goal in this class is to give you the best possible clay education while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. Specifically, centering via coning up and down, opening the form, pulling the walls of the clay pot, trimming your pots (carving and finishing the bottoms), and finally glazing them (the top coat). This 8-week course will meet every Saturday beginning January 4th from 10 am - 1 pm with the final class being held on February 22nd. There is one make-up session per person per class if you are sick or life gets in the way. Please email us if you need to reschedule and we will coordinate with you! :)

Our intermediate pottery class is specially designed to teach you how to elevate your wheel-throwing skills while building on your existing foundational skills. We will refresh our beginner skills (posture, breathing, form, and basic shapes) and then get more technical to refine and elevate your pottery! Our goal in this class is to give you the best possible clay education while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. This 7-week course will meet every Saturday beginning November 2nd from 2 - 5 pm with the final class being held on December 21st; there is no class on November 30th. There is usually one make-up session per person per class if you are sick or life gets in the way; since it is the holiday season we will allow up to 2 make-up classes per person for this session.
